Jesús Augusto Sarcos Romero: Fabio Capello Announced his Retirement from Directing Soccer Clubs

CHINA.- Fabio Capello,  former coach of Real Madrid, assured that his experience leading the Chinese club Jiangsu Suning, from which he quit March 27th, has been the last of his coaching career and that he is satisfied with all he has accomplished.

“I had experiences with England and Russian national squads. I wanted to be again a club coach and Jiangsu has been my last soccer coaching experience,” stated Capello in an interview with the Italian channel “Rai Radio.”

“I did everything I wanted. I am very happy for all I have achieved and now I am having a great time commenting. We always win in this position,” joked the Italian coach who made the comments from a well-known Italian channel.

Capello, who won to Spanish La Liga leading Real Madrid, ended all speculations linking him with the Italian national squad, who has Luigi Di Biagio as a temporary coach.

“We are good coaches if we have good players; it is complicated to achieve anything with mediocre players. In this moment we are lacking good players. We need leaders, players who mark a difference,” mentioned Capello making reference to the difficult moment of “La Azzurra.”

Italy is experiencing a decrease when it was not qualified to Russia’s World Cup in 2018, something that did not happen since sixty years ago in 1958.

According to the Italian coach, Italian soccer problems are originated in the technical quality and he invited to follow the example of Spanish clubs soccer schools.

“The Italian soccer is getting better, but we need to work under other aspects. We need to teach kids how to play soccer, how to control the ball. In Italy we talk about tactics to 12 year old kids; in Spain we give them the ball,” he stated.

Capello considered also that Juventus and Roma, Rivals for Real Madrid and Barcelona, have “few chances of winning” after losing 3-0 and 4-1 respectively in the first leg.

“When you have (Cristiano) Ronaldo, and (Lionel) Messi you are winning 1-0. They are key players, and this year even more. I do not give many options to Juventus and Roma.”

“The quality of these players and the economic possibilities of Real Madrid and Barcelona are way too superior to ours,” Capello added.
