Jesús Augusto Sarcos Romero | The path of a true fan
So you watch on TV your favorite team's games and you can tell the names of all their players and even some managers... That is cool. But will you call yourself a fan taking into consideration those aspects? I would rather say no since being a fan is more of a lifestyle rather tha a hobby. It is feeling your team's vibes and expanding them to your sourroundings. You need to be able of dpicting an image of pride and honor.
Imagine being a fan as being born in another country. You must be proud of the ideals your team stands for. You must know the history of the team, the players, and he managers. You must sing their songs as a national anthem. You must understand that nothing goes above your team's aspirations.
If you are one of those who hit the stadium frequently, you are on the right track. The stadium is the representation of what your team stands for. You will come across comrades who will share your same desire of having the best team of the planet.
Perhaps I am being a little bit crazy but, for example, my Bayern Munich fan experience has taught me how I should live and how proud I must be of my players. I often meet my friends at a German pub and we have a chat while watching the outstanding performances of my team. It must be a reason to feel free and to fight for my team's ideals.
However, we must always respect our enemies. This pride and honor cannot be blackened with crude violence we see in many cases. Even if our ideals collide, respect must be the banner we all must promote, since a team is also a family and families are taught to respect the others.
